Aqua-Kleen ®

Aqua-Kleen ®: Formulation of 2,4-D has been used successfully for selective control of noxious aquatic plants including Water Milfoil for more than two decades. Aqua-Kleen ® can also be used to manage aquatic plants such as Water Chestnut, Spatterdock,Coontail and Water Stargrass when considered a nuisance. Aqua-Kleen ® has a relatively short half-life and does not bioaccumulate in the aquatic environment.

Aqua-Kleen ®: Does not affect most aquatic plants that are considered beneficial by water resource and fisheries managers. Aqua-Kleen ® can be used to control nuisance plants in specific areas without impacting untreated areas of the lake or water body.

Aqua-Kleen ®: Is a systemic herbicide that provides excellent control relatively quickly. Aqua-Kleen ®: Granular Aquatic Herbicide is used at rates of 100-200 lbs. per surface acre depending upon the target plants to be controlled.

Rates of application vary with resistance of weed species to the chemicals, density of weed mass at time of treatment, stage of growth, water depth, and rate of water flow through the treated area. Use the higher rate for dense weeds, when water is more than 8' deep and where there is a large volume turnover.

*Repeat treatment may be necessary.
