Global Crop Protection
Cerexagri has focused its resources on developing effective crop protection solutions for the high value vine, fruit, nut and vegetable markets. These product solutions range from oil based fungicide formulations for the banana markets of Central America to high quality disperse formulations for the vine markets of Europe. The Company is a leader in both fungicide and insecticide product development efforts.
CEREXAGRI is the world's second largest producer of dithiocarbamate fungicides, contact products suited for almost 100 different crops and used to combat more than 400 diseases. These products are marketed in a range for formulations and under the primary brand names of Penncozeb and Pennfluid. It is also one of the leading producers of copper and sulfur based active ingredients and formulations for the specialty crop market. Its copper based Cuprofix Dispress formulation incorporates patented technology to provide the grower with a unique Bouillie Bordelaise of Bordeaux mixture which is a worldwide leading product in key vine and citrus crop segments. Similarly the Company's sulfur based Microthiol Special Disperss is a recognized standard for quality in the global sulfur fungicide/miticide markets.
Many years' experience of the industrial techniques of microencapsulation, has enabled CEREXAGRI to reach the cutting edge of progress with both traditional and new insecticide products.
Patented under the name of EcoModules®, the principle of microencapsulation is to enclose active substances in porous microscopic capsules, suspended in water. At the time of treatment, the water evaporates in the open air, exposing the microcapsules that progressively release the active ingredients they contain. This unique technology has enabled Cerexagri to carve out a leadership position with its specialty insecticide formulations Penncap M and IPM 400 or Fenitrocap. These products provide a buffer to reduce potential toxicity for users as well as provide the grower with a significant improvement in residual insect control.
